Doclisboa’18: scoring with world premier
The whole world will fit in Lisbon once again between 18 and 28 October, for the 16th edition of Doclisboa International Film Festival. The grand opening at Culturgest will host , with the shadow of the Nazi past hanging over Kurt Waldheim, former Secretary General of the United Nations, through Ruth Beckermann’s The Waldheim Waltz, winer of the award for Best Documentary at the Berlin Film Festival.
The closing session arrives, to Cinema São Jorge from Romania: Corneliu Porumboiu returned to his homeland to learn more about a new sport invented from changes to the rules of football, and documented all in Infinite Football (pictured).
Between these two films, and across the ten days of the festival, Doclisboa is proud to present hundreds of carefully selected titles to look at and think about the world we live in. This year, the festival’s International Competition will be composed entirely of world or international premieres.
