Director Ammar al-Beik, curator and performer Donatella Della Ratta and filmmaker Aghyad Abou Koura will lead a practical laboratory on performativity, documentation and the instant of filming. Based on the participants’ personal history and artistic practice, they will be asked to prepare some working materials, which will then be the base for the making of a short film exercise. Participants will also be invited to watch the performance Ghouta Expanded 2.0.
“Because cinematography is something spontaneous and not planned, something can be felt via people’s eyes. For me, the idea of instant cinema with passionate people has to do with feeling the city, people’s energies.”
