Berlin Around the Corner
berlin um die ecke
Gerhard Klein
It’s the mid 1960s in East Berlin. Horst and Olaf are friends and a part of a youth crew at a metalworking factory. They’re unhappy with the discrimination against young skilled workers, as well as a few other things, and often clash with the older workers. The film was accused of portraying generational conflict as insurmountable, and of distorting and exaggerating problems in manufacturing operations. It was banned and only finished in 1990.
