“In 1984, the district administration for the Berlin district called Mitte was moved into a building called the Berlinhaus on Alexanderplatz. The agencies located there included the housing and welfare offices, the youth welfare department, the office of vital statistics, and so on. (…) I knew the footage would never be seen, but that it would be securely stored in the archives. It could be excavated, however, one – presumably far off – day.” Thomas Heise
