“On August 21, 2017, I travelled to Madras, Oregon and made one 45-minute shot starting at 10 am. It was to be a very special day which I had planned to attend for a few months. There was a forest fire to the south which partly filled the sky with a light haze. In the distance, Mount Jefferson (3199m) was snow-capped. In the foreground, there were barrels of trash and an old piece of farm equipment. To the left, out of view, was a herd of cows.” James Benning
