DOCBREAKFEST [NEW!]
PROFESSIONAL MEETINGS
For the first time, doclisboa will organize professional meetings between portuguese
producers/directors and some representatives from the international market: large
distributors of the documentary; television channels interested in the portuguese
production; cinema distributors. These professional encounters will take place
over breakfast, within the space “Forum Debates”.
LISBON DOCS – CO-FINANCING FORUM
(23 to 27 October)
Lisbon Docs is a co-financing forum for documentaries, organized
by Apordoc, in partnership with EDN – European Documentary
Network. This is the most important event for the professionals of
documentary in Portugal and will occur on the last week-end of the
festival. Lisbon Docs is a privileged meeting point for the representatives
of European televisions and a set of ten foreign producers who participate
in a public session of pitching. Here fifteen projects of documentary
films, both Portuguese and foreign, are presented to the televisions,
with proposals of co-production or sale.
More information here, flyer here.
PEDAGOGIC ACTIVITIES – SÃO
JORGE [NEW!]
This year, the first edition of the WORKSHOP DOCLISBOA ESCOLAS will
happen, with the purpose of bringing cinema students and young directors
closer to the international rules of professional documentary. The
public session for presentation of the selected projects will take
place on the 26th of October, in S. Jorge Cinema.
On 2007, also for the first time, will be organized the Doc Chat – informal
colloquies between accomplished directors, cinema students and young
directors.
DOCMARATHON AT SÃO JORGE [NEW!]
Another novelty at this 5th edition is the Docmarathon, which will
take place on the last Sunday of the festival. One or two commissioners
will choose, among the films presented at the festival, fifteen
of their favourites and will make the presentation of those works.
The marathon will happen on the two screening rooms of the S. Jorge
Cinema. Starting at 11 in the morning of the 28th October, and
ending at dawn.
JOHNIE WALKER DEBATE FORUM [NEW!]
The Debates Forum will have this year a more informal dynamic, the
conversations will be had at the coffee table, with the active
intervention of moderators.
MASTERCLASSES
Trough the course of the festival, two public cinema classes will
be held. In charge of them will be accomplished directors. Of which
we first announce Lech Kowalski.
VIDEO LIBRARY SONY
The viewers of doclisboa can watch the set of films sent for selection
on the Video Library of the festival, equipped with several viewing
stations for individual screening.
The Video Library is a space of public access, having however some
viewing stations reserved exclusively to the professionals credited
at the festival.
AFTERDOCS
This year, at DocLisboa's request, MAXIME will host the festival's
'AfterDocs' parties, taking place between the 18th and 28th of October.
In partnership with the organisation, we have put together a programme
with theme nights that range from Nordic and electrifying sounds
to hot African rhythms to Portugal's own fado vadio and includes
well-known as well as emerging names. After the films wrap up, head
over to the Praça da Alegria for one last session.
In October everybody can be found at MAXIME for a vodka shot, a dish
of cachupa or a traditional Portuguese kale soup.
We've lined up seven musical options to make the nights of the festival
unforgettable. See programme here.
