...European Independent Documentary Producers & Directors
EDN and AporDoc invite you to submit proposals for
the 7th edition of LisbonDocs, a documentary conference that includes
a pitching workshop for Portuguese, Western and Eastern European
documentary filmmakers and producers who want to take part in an
intense creative dialogue.
LisbonDocs is not only about pitching. It is also
a space for the participants to meet with internationally known directors
and producers and a unique chance for filmmakers to form alliances
for the future.
LisbonDocs takes place in the framework of DocLisboa
International Documentary Film Festival that is now entering its
3rd year with a selection of the best of the best in international
documentary production. The synergy between LisbonDocs and the festival
is evident: during the day it is workshop time, in the evening it
is show time for new films.
If you have a project with international
appeal ready to be pitched LisbonDocs is the right place for you
to go to this fall.
In a couple of days, in an intense working atmosphere,
14 projects are discussed, developed and turned upside down by colleagues
and a tutor team of 6 internationally experienced producers and directors
with the necessary background and skills to give you inspiration
for the development of your film.
At the end of the workshop projects are pitched at
a public session. A panel of Commissioning Editors from leading channels
in international co-productions take part in the LisbonDocs pitching
dialogue between directors, producers and broadcasters. LisbonDocs
also includes screenings of documentaries and master classes on international
aspects of documentary making.
Previous editions of LisbonDocs have proven to be successful in pushing several
filmmakers into the international scene. Films that have been presented at
LisbonDocs, like Margarida Cardoso's "Natal 71", Serge Tréfaut´s "Fleurette" and
João Ribeiro & José Filipe Costa's "In Between Walls" give
proof of the high standard in the host country. Along with several non-Portuguese
like the French José Vieira's "The Divided Picture", the Danish
Anders Leifer's "Fado" and "Women - the Forgotten Face of War" by
Susan Muska & Greta Olafsdottir, Iceland/USA.
