In 1986, Beckermann was one of the activists trying to prevent the election of Kurt Waldheim. Decades later, she returns to that moment to understand present-day Austria. Former UN Secretary General Waldheim concealed two years of his past during the Nazi regime – he impersonates Austria’s recent history.
