JURY

 

Brigitta Burger-Utzer
Brigitta Burger-Utzer studied theatre and photography, and has a degree in cultural management. She co-founded sixpackfilm in 1990, of which she has been managing director since 1992. She has designed and/or organised numerous film series in Vienna and for international venues. In 2003, she edited the book Frank Films: The Film and Video Work of Robert Frank together with Stefan Grissemann. In 2004, she founded the DVD-Label INDEX together with Medienwerkstatt Wien.

Madeleine Molineaux
Madeleine Molyneaux is a creative producer and curator based in New York and Los Angeles. Her company, Picture Palace Pictures, founded in 2004, works closely with emerging and established international visual artists, musicians and filmmakers, to develop, produce and represent films and hybrid moving image works that often defy easy categorization. She is currently developing a feature film based on the life of the poet Charles Bukowski.

Margarida Leitão
Margarida Leitão graduated in film editing and has a master’s degree in film project development (specialising in dramaturgy and direction) from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School. Besides directing, she works regularly as editor and script supervisor. She currently teaches film editing and documentary film. She directed several fictional and documentary short films, which have been shown at festivals all over the world and on television.

Two-weeks artistic residency, between December 2018 and May 2019, at the Contemporary Art Center Arquipélago, Island of São Miguel, Azores
Located in the middle of the Atlantic, in São Miguel, the largest of the nine islands of the archipelago of Azores – Arquipélago is a transdisciplinary art center that hosts projects of creation, production and exhibition of contemporary arts, reaching disciplines such as: visual arts, performing arts, multimedia, music, film, architecture, design, illustration, literature and fashion.

Bienal Arte Joven de Buneos Aires Award
Consisting on the participation of an Arché participant in the Bienal Arte Joven, in July 2019, in the capital of Argentina. The prize will be awarded to a director aged between 18 and 32 years. Co-directed projects are not eligible.
The Bienal Arte Joven is a launching platform for young artists. It aims to be a place of encounter and experimentation of a generation that is in constant evolution, and gives rise to new languages and forms of expression through the different disciplines that compose it.

MRG//WORK Fellowship
a participation fellowship will be given to one of the Portuguese participants. The winner will attend MRG//WORK, Spanish festival Márgenes’s working lab, taking place between November 24th and 25th 2018.
MRG//WORK is a project development lab, open to authoral films from Spain, Portugal and Latin America in different stages of production.
The winner of the fellowship is chosen by one of Márgenes programmer.
