Doclisboa wants to question the present of film, bringing along its history and assuming cinema as a mode of freedom. By refusing the categorization of film practice, it searches for the new problematics that cinematic image implies, in its multiple ways of engagement with the contemporary. Doclisboa tries to be a place to imagine reality through new modes of perception, reflection, and possible new forms of action.

Those who make Revolution Halfway only dig Their Own Graves

Ceux qui font les révolutions à moitié n’ont fait que se creuser un tombeau

Four twenty-something from Quebec reject the world in which they live. Three years after the collapse of the Maple Spring protest movement, they gradually move closer to terrorism. But their revolutionary avant-garde is far from society’s prevailing aspirations. A radical film, extending and transforming some of the issues raised in the Another America retrospective.
