Highlights – Portuguese Films

Today, at 6.30pm, the second screening of the film A Nossa Forma de Vida, by Pedro Marques. At 9pm at Culturgest's Large Auditorium, the first screening of the portuguese film selected for the International Competition, It's the Earth not the Moon, by Gonçalo Tocha. Also at 9pm at Culturgest's Small Auditorium, Cold Water, by Pedro Neves, and 30000 Years, by Maya Rosa.
On Tuesday, October 26th, the Portuguese Competition section starts with a triple screening at 5 pm, at Culturgest's Large Auditorium: Uncle Rui, by Mário Macedo, Slaughter, by André Laranjinha and Praxis, by Bruno Cabral. At 7.30pm another triple screening of portuguese short films: The Machine, by Miguel Guimarães Correia and Daniel P. Sousa, Horror In The Red District (Documental Prologue), by Edgar Pêra and 1971-74, by Andreia Sobreira. On Wednesday, October 27th at 5pm, Borralha's Mines by Fábio Oliveira, Luís Brandão, Teresa Pinto and Tiago, and Cartas de Angola by Dulce Fernandes at Culturgest - Large Auditorium. At 9.30pm, also at the Large Auditorium, the short film Golden Dawn, by Salomé Lamas, and the feature Yama no Anata, by Aya Koretzky.
CPLP Documentaries

Doclisboa 2011 is pleased to present nine films produced in 2009 under the "International Documentary Project Selection Contest", giving filmmakers from CPLP DOCTV Network countries the opportunity to offer an original view on contemporary issues regarding cultural diversity in each country. The phrase "Glimpses of the community of Portuguese-speaking countries" was the starting point for the different approaches adopted by the directors. A unique opportunity to see projects from these countries.

Ramones Party After the screening of End of the Century: The Story of The Ramones, by Michael Gramaglia and Jim Fields, at Cinema São Jorge (theater Manoel de Oliveira) at 10pm, the punk rock party continues at Teatro do Bairro with the Senhor Comendador e sua sobrinha's DJ Set.
African Party African rythms will take over Teatro do Bairro in an homage to the Liberation movements in Mozambique, Angola, and Guinea-Bissau (1961-1974) Retrospective. Music by Ana Firmino, Calú Moreira and Sandra Horta (10pm - 4am).
