Sunday October 30th - highlights

When China Met Africa, by brothers Marc and Nick Francis, at 4.45pm at Cinema Londres, theater 1 (Investigations section of the festival).

 

At 5.45 at Cinema City Campo Pequeno, Cane Toads: the Conquest, by Mark Lewis. A 3D screening aiming for younger audiences.

Miriam Makeba will bring the Heartbeat back to Cinema São Jorge at 6pm with Mama Africa. The Heartbeat program ends with a true celebration - Monterey Pop, at 10pm.


Rosa von Praunheim takes us on a journey back to the New York of the seventies with New York Memories - Cinema Londres, theater 1, 9.15pm


At Teatro do Bairro, 9.30pm, Vredens Poesi, by Lennart Malmer and The People Organised, by Robert F. Van Lierop, both belonging to the Liberation Movements in Mozambique, Angola, and Guinea-Bissau (1961-1974) Retrospective.


Doclisboa 2011 ends with the International Competition winner, at 9.30pm - Culturgest, Large Auditorium

Saturday October 29th – highlights and awarded films
2011/10/28

At 9pm the winners of the IX doclisboa International Film Festival will be announced. The announcement will be made at the Closing Film screening, Photographic Memory, by Ross McElwee. The director will be at screening.

At 4.30 pm at Cinema São Jorge (theater 3), four films of the Liberation Movements in Mozambique, Angola, and Guinea-Bissau (1961-1974) Retrospective: The Embassy, by Filipa César, Soldier playing with Dead Lizard, by Daniel Barroca, Nshajo (The Game), by Raquel Schefer and Alheava_film, by Manuel Santos Maia.


At 4.45pm at Cinema Londres, theater 1, three films of the New Visions section of the festival: River Rites, by Ben Russell, Holy Time in Eternity, Holy Eternity in Time, by Elise Florenty e Marcel Türkowsky and Our Man, by portuguese director Pedro Costa.


Petit à Petit and Le Foot-Girafe ou l'Alternative, by Jean Rouch, will be screened at Culturgest's Large Auditorium at 5pm.


At the Small Auditorium, a Special Screening - Out of Competition, at 9pm: La Nuit Tombe Sur la Ménagerie, by Nicolas Philibert and Il Nous Faut du Bonheur, by Alexei Jankowski and Alexander Sokurov.


The film Joann Sfar (Dessins), by Mathieu Amalric, will be shown at Cinema Londres (theater 1) at 9.15pm, along with the short film by Svetlana Filippova, Three Love Stories.
