About the speakers

Filipa Reis
Film director and producer. Founded her own production company together with her companion, director João Miller Guerra, in 2008, and they produce film projects and television programmes. They’ve made short and documentary films that premiered and were awarded at international festivals. Has a degree in business management and a post-degree in film and television, and is the chairwoman of the Portuguese Association of Film Directors since 2016.

Luana Melgaço
Brazilian Luana Melgaço is a partner at Anavilhana. She worked as a producer or executive producer on more than 20 short and feature-length films, notably Swirl (2010), Breath (2012), Where I Grow Old (2016), While We Are Here (2019) and Brief Story from the Green Planet (2019). Her films have been screened and awarded at the main film festivals in Brazil and abroad, and commercially released in several countries.

Puy Oria
Starts her film career with Elías Querejeta in Las cartas de Alou (1989). In 1999, establishes the production company Oria Films with Montxo Armendáriz, having produced, among others, Silencio roto, Obaba (nominated for best production director) and No tengas miedo. In the last ten years, has held audio-visual production courses, lectures and workshops. Is a member of Spain’s Film Academy and, since 2018, president of the Federation of Independent Audio-visual Production Companies.
