This year, Doclisboa organizes a series of meetings with film directors from all over the world (Nicolas Philibert, Želimir Žilnik, Mehran Tamadon among others) having as central theme the question: 'Which are the challenges of Documentary work'?
There will be 6 sessions of about 3 hours each, between 19th and 24th, October.
In each session, one film director will talk about the challenges he faced during his work as a documentarist. Cinema and life are always intimately connected and in documentary that is, maybe, much more visible. The participants will have the priviledge of discussing and thinking about the challenges of the documentarist in multiple dimentions: since some more technical, pratical and logistic issues to the most ethical and emotional, which always involves interpersonal relation.
The exercise about the 'finished piece' isn´t the most important, the focus goes to the escrutinizing process, discussing with the director the soluctions that he has found out and sharing experiences. It is crucial that the participants are there in every session.
