«doclisboa has established itself
as one of the world’s leading documentary film festivals»

    Ulla Jacobsen – Dox

«The selection at doclisboa shows that there is a festival that select films for their artistic value»

    Tue Steen Müller– Dox

«It happens, but not very often, that you get the feeling that a festival is made for you, that it
has a selection of films that matches your view
on documentaries and your taste. doclisboa 2008 did so.
+
Doclisboa has this indefinable sense of ambiance that many festivals fight to achieve.
May be it is in this light that I felt so good at this year’s doclisboa, where I had time to watch films, meet directors and have more-than –two-minute-long civilized conversations with old and new friends. It may sound like a small elitist festival, but it’s not: 32,173 tickets in 10 days! A festival for an audience.
For the sake of emphasis, doclisboa had an excellent international competition programme and several very qualified special sessions.»

Organized by Apordoc – The Portuguese Documentary Association –– in the second part of October, doclisboa screens the best contemporary documentaries from the last season and presents some non competitive programs, including the retrospective of an internationally recognized author. Public masterclasses and informal daily talks with directors stimulate the dialogue between the audience and many professionals.

Along the festival the participants can attend the lisbon docs pitching forum, the daily docbreakfast (professional meetings), and the Guest meet Guest Happy Hour.
