Substitute
Fred Poulet, Vikash Dhorasoo
France, 2006, 71’
The FIFA World Cup 2006 as seen by the French national team player Vikash Dhorasoo and the writer and musician Fred Poulet. Both filmed with a Super 8: one shows us his growing frustration as Zidane's substitute, the other tells us everything that happens during his travels through Germany and at the stadiums when France plays. Melancholy rather than euphoria, loneliness, as opposed to the slogan "all-for-one-and-one-for-all", a tragic hero and not a glorious athlete.
