| What can a picture of a face reveal about a political system? What can a photo of a face taken more than 35 years ago tell us about today? Starting with a group of photographs of former political prisoners of the Portuguese dictatorship (1926-1974), 48 tries to show the mechanisms through which an authoritarian system endeavoured to perpetuate itself. |
