At the end of the 1960's, a high school student decides to play truant from school. At the movies, she meets a French deserter and goes strolling along with him through Brussels. Akerman searches for the adolescent despair underlying her heroin's arrogant verbosity, the fear of desire beneath the clumsy gestures, the flesh beneath the words.
