Christine
Dollhofer [AU]
She studied theatre,
journalism and media at the University of Vienna. Between
1993 and 1997, she worked for Filmcasino, in Vienna, and
from 1997 to 2003 she headed Diagonale – The Festival
of Austrian Film in Graz. Currently she is a lecturer at
the University of Vienna, she is part of SixpackFilm direction,
a jury member of Vienna Film Fund and a consultant for
acquisitions at Filmladen distributors, in Vienna. Since
2004 she has been director of Crossing Europe Film Festival.
Joana
Vicente [PT and EUA]
Joana Vicente has produced
over thirty films, many by such acclaimed directors as
Brian de Palma, Stephen Soderbergh, Jim Jarmusch and Hal
Hartley. She co-founded, with Jason Kliot, Open City Films
as well as HDNet Films. Her films have garnered numerous
awards and are often selected for the Cannes, Sundance,
Berlin, Venice, and Toronto film festivals. In 2007, she
was honoured by Mayor Michael Bloomberg with the Made in
NY award..
Jonathan
Rosenbaum [EUA]
Born in Alabama in 1943. He
later moved to Paris where he worked as assistant director
to Jacques Tati. Regarded as an important figure in American
film journalism, he was a film critic for Chicago Reader
between 1987 and 1997. He has published and edited numerous
books, most notably: Moving Places,
Placing Movies, Midnight Movies (with J. Hoberman), Movies
as Politics or Movie Wars, and has contributed to most of the world’s
notable film publications.
Margarida
Veiga [PT]
She graduated in Architecture
and post-graduated in Arts Management. Director of Exposition
Centre – Belém Cultural Centre between 1996
and 2003, she was also responsible for the management and
programming of the Berardo Collection, in the same period.
Currently she is Administrator of the Belém Cultural
Centre Foundation and the Contemporary and Modern Art Foundation,
Berardo Collection. She was responsible for the programming
and production of CCB’s Inside Out Festival between
July and August 2008.
Nan
Goldin [EUA]
Born in Washington in 1953.
For the last 30 years she has developed a body of work
in which photography reveals itself as a radical and courageous
coincidence between art and life. After she graduated at
Tufts University, she moved to New York and started making
documental photography about the post punk movements, quickly
integrating herself in the New York underground scene.
The documental nature of her work has been most often presented
in the form of a slideshow at film festivals.

Fleur
Knoperts [NL]
Between 2001 and 2006, she
was director of the Forum for International Co-Financing
of Documentaries at the Amsterdam International Documentary
Film Festival. (IDFA) where she also co-organized the yearlong
documentary script workshop. From 1998 until 2000, she
was co-coordinator of the Jan Vrijman
Fund, which gives
financial support to documentary filmmakers from developing
countries. In 2007 she was Industry & Marketplace
Director at Doc/Fest in Sheffield where she set up MeetMarket. She
is currently freelancing and exploring new horizons.
Francesc
Relea Ginés [ES]
Graduated in Journalism at
the Universidade Autónoma de Barcelona and has a
Master in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University.
He began his Professional career at El Periódico
de Cataluña. He worked in television in several
countries where he was a war correspondent. Since 1990,
he has been on the staff of El País editorial office,
with a break to return to Latin America as a correspondent
in Buenos Aires (1998- 2005) and México (2005-2008).
Currently, he is El País correspondent in Portugal..
Licinio
Azevedo [MZ]
He is a filmmaker and writer.
One of his books was the basis for the script of the
first Mozambican full-length feature film. He worked
in the National Institute of Cinema of Mozambique, where
he closely followed Ruy Guerra and Jean-Luc Godard’s
experiences. For five years he was also responsible for
the weekly television program Canal Zero at the Media
Institute. Currently, he works as a director and producer
for Ébano Multimédia, a production company.

Jordi
Ambròs [ES]
From 1985, he was scriptwriter,
and later Director, Executive producer and Commissioning
Editor for Televisió de Catalunya/TV3. Since 2000,
he has been Head of Documentary Co-production and director
of El documental, a weekly slot that includes a wide selection
of international documentaries and local co-productions.
He has also numerous national and international engagements
and contributions in the documentary film field (consultant,
jury, lecturer, tutor and reporter).
Pedro
Pimenta [MZ]
He started his film career
at the National Film Institute of Mozambique in 1977. He
is a founder of Ebano Multimedia Lda, leading independent
production company in Mozambique. Between 1997 and 2003,
he was the Chief Technical Adviser of the UNESCO Zimbabwe
Film & Vídeo Training Project for Southern Africa.
He is the founder and Director of Dockanema a documentary
film festival in Mozambique and a consultant with the National
Audiovisual and Film Institute (INAC).
Simonetta
Luz Afonso [PT]
Born in 1946 in Lisbon. She
graduated in History, initiated her Professional activity
in 1972 in Palácio Nacional da Pena, moving to Palácio
Nacional de Queluz in 1974, that directs between 1983 and
1991. From 1991 to 1996 she was appointed General-Director
of the Portuguese Institute of Museums. From 2001 to 2004
she was the Chief Curator of the Portuguese Parliament.
From May 2004 to August 2008, she was President of Institute
Camões, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
