Professional
meetings
Following last year’s success of these professional
meetings, doclisboa organizes a new round of informal
conversations between Portuguese professionals and representatives
from the international market: documentary distributors;
television networks interested in Portuguese productions;
and film distributors. These professional meetings will
take place during breakfast hour in the debates forum.
Lisbon Docs
Workshop for
producers
[21 till 25 October]
The Lisbon Docs Workshop for producers, taking place
in the Festival’s last weekend and organized by
Apordoc with EDN – European Documentary Network,
is the most important event for documentary professionals
in Portugal. Several representatives from various European
television networks and distributors meet at Lisbon Docs
with two dozens of Portuguese and foreign producers who
seek international financing for their new projects.
Johnnie Walker debates
forum
The Debates Forum continues
this year in an informal way, with conversations taking
place at coffee tables and with strong intervention
from moderators.
São Jorge docparties
Associated to the musical programming of HEART BEAT, there
will be three doclisboa parties:
- Brazil: Thursday 16 (with live music)
- Cuba: Saturday 18
- Mozambique: Thursday 23
An independent party will be organized on the 24th to celebrate the 20th anniversary
of the Homeoestética Movement (with a live concert by Ena Pá 2000),
in a location to be announced soon.
docs 4 kids
This section of the festival
is dedicated to practical work with children from specific
excerpts from “The Red Race” documentary.
Masterclasses
Public lessons of film with
reputed directors: Frederick Wiseman, Thomas Balmès
and Eduardo Coutinho.
Workshop SONY
doclisboa will again
organize one formation workshop supported by SONY.
Workshop Sony - New equipments and register supports,
an analysis on production workflow regarding its financial
costs, based on specific production cases. Organized
by Fernando Antunes – Sony Portugal –, products
official in the Digital Cinematography area.
A partnership between doclisboa, Sony and the Portuguese
Image of Film and Television Association, with German
cinematographer Birgit Gudjonsdottir AAC.
Image professor in Filmakademie Baden Württemberg
in Ludwigsburg since 1998 and in Berlin’s dffb,
she has worked as a cinematographer in several films,
such as: "No Name City" by Florian Flicker
(doc. 2006), "EI in Japan" by Connie Walther
(doc. 2005), "Auf Verwehten Spuren - Durch Die Wildnis
Alaskas" by Wolfram Giese/J. Schliessler (Doc. 2004), "Ein
Tag mit folgen" by Katja Esson (Doc 2004), "Jargo" by
Maria Sólrun Sigurdardóttir (fiction, 2003)
and "Und tschüss Ihr Lieben" by Connie
Walther (TV, 2002).
Birgit will talk about her work process in documentary
and the use of digital equipment. In this workshop, two
new digital camcorders recently launched in the market
will be introduced: the PMW-EX3 and the HVR-Z5.
SONY videolibrary
Doclisboa spectators will
be able to see a group of films in the festival’s
video library (selected and non-selected films), equipped
with several individual viewing posts. The video library
is open to all, although some posts will be exclusively
available to professionals.
