In January, Doclisboa became the seventh member of Doc Alliance project. It came from the partnership between other six documentary european festivals:

• CPH:DOX Copenhagen (Denmark)
• DOK Leipzig (Germany)
• FID Marseille (France)
• Jihlava IDFF (Czech Republic)
• Planete Doc Film Festival (Poland)
• Visions du Réel Nyon (Switzerland)

The goal of this alliance is to support, on a regular basis, documentary cinema, giving directors and producers alternative ways of distribution, either by its online portal (www.DAFilms.com) and by the festivals-mebers' approach to the audience. As a member of Doc Alliance, Doclisboa will participate actively on its main projects:

Doc Alliance Selection: Each festival will nominate a film to run on the competition to the Doc Alliance award, attributed to a Jury composed by seven members, equally nominated by each one of the projects. Doclisboa 2013 will programme, on this context, from 3 to 7 films on a own section (Doc Alliance Section) and will have Captivity, by André Gil Mata, running to the award.

DAFilms.com: VOD documentary online distribution platform, for which the members contribute with a group of films every year, as well as with titles for the making of temporary theme-based programs.
