In the icy cold winter night, a security guard feeds a duck that has strayed onto an industrial site. A night wanderer flees from his restlessness, out into the moonlit night. A homeless man searches for a dry place to sleep. Night shifts shows people in Berlin who are invisible during the day and have chosen the night for their existence.
