Svetlana Geier, 85 years, born in Ukraine, is considered the greatest translator of Russian literature into German, author of the new translations of Dostoyevsky’s five great novels, known as “the five elephants”. We discover a fascinating person, following her literary work and daily life, in the moment she returns to Ukraine after more than 60 years of absence and living the painful experience of the death of her son. The gentleness of Svetlana’s portrait is inseparable of the European history of the 20th century.
