Thirteen aged men and women with cognitive impairment illness attend the Psychogeriatric Day Hospital of the former Júlio de Matos Hospital. At the consultation, the psychiatrist assesses and diagnoses each patient. The treatment is based on psychotherapeutic practices, which allow intervention on the person, improving the preserved capabilities, stimulating autonomy and rehabilitating identity.
