During the colonial war, Portuguese young men had to choose between the armed forces and the national cod fishing fleet. Along a voyage aboard the “Creoula” – the last Portuguese sailing boat used in cod fishing – three former fishermen remember the harsh working conditions in their youth, the reasons behind their life choices and the constraints on their destinies.
