In 1958, “Ballet in Sneakers” by Jerome Robbins (the choreographer of “West Side Story”) became a smash hit when it was broadcast on “The Ed Sullivan Show”. This new film adaptation expresses the feelings of an urban youth through ballet, jazz, ballroom dancing, and American and African rhythms.
