“The First Years” is a film in episodes about the post-war construction of socialism in Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Poland and Yugoslavia. The Polish episode, built as a fiction, tells the story of a music teacher who leaves Warsaw, totally devastated by the bombings, to restart a new life in a steel factory in Silesia (Silesia was returned by Germany to Poland after the war).
