In 2019, in collaboration with Creative Europe Desks, the topic will be the distribution of films in educational settings. An afternoon with speakers, discussions and group work, intending to contribute to a wider discussion about the European film market in educational settings.<\/p>\n<h3>Go to school: How can docs reach the educational market?<\/h3>\n<p>A conference and a debate on good practices as far as the educational market distribution is concerned, focussing on documentary film. The session comprises some of the best examples when approaching the school market in Europe, joined by excerpts from one \u201ccase study\u201d film and a presentation of the Education Project model at Apordoc \u2013 Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Pelo Document\u00e1rio. Created in 2000 by a group of filmmakers and film lovers in the scope of Porto 2001 \u2013 European Capital of Culture, it designs, sets up and mentors activities aimed at leading children and teenagers involved to enjoy, understand and criticise works that are the result of cinematic art.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gudrun Sommer, Director of the Duisburger Filmwoche and doxs! film festivals<\/strong><br \/>\nDuisburger Filmwoche (Germany) A well-established festival for documentaries produced in Austria, Germany, or Switzerland. In 2002 doxs!, documentaries for children and youth, a section for young audiences was inaugurated. Meanwhile doxs! is running an international festival with film entries from across Europe, which takes place in seven cities in the Ruhr area and an educative programme for schools throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Martin Schantz Faurholt, Editor film education<\/strong><br \/>\nFilmcentralen (Denmark) Filmcentralen is the Danish Film Institute\u2019s streaming site with online distribution of short fiction and documentary films. Fimcentralen \/ Education promotes the use of short and documentary film in both elementary school and high school and has more than 550 teaching materials online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oliver Serti\u0107, Label Producer, Editor <\/strong><br \/>\nRestart (Croatia) An organisation focused on production, education, distribution and exhibition of creative documentary films. Its films were screened at film festivals such as Toronto (Canada), Locarno (Switzerland), Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic), Rotterdam (Netherlands), FIDMarseille (France), DOK Leipzig (Germany) and Visions du R\u00e9el (Switzerland), among others. Restart runs several film projects, including an educational program in documentary film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tone Gr\u00f8ttjord, Producer and CEO <\/strong><br \/>\nSant &amp; Usant (Norway) Documentary film production company based in Oslo, Norway. Sant &amp; Usant has developed a new method for e-learning where the use of creative documentary is at the very core: Educational Storytelling.
