MRG//Work Fellowships


MRG//Work is the training, analysis and development place of Márgenes Film Festival, in Madrid.

In a world where the audiovisual is constantly changing and evolving, new ways and means to work it and understanding are needed and are essential. MRG//Work was born out of this need, as a place to reflect, work and creative development targeting authors, professional and independent structures. Its aims are to promote the network between different subjects and institutions to push new projects forward and to encourage their circulation, and still supporting their identity and quality.

With the support of La Casa Encendida of the Montemadrid Foundation, it awards a prize of € 4.000 to support the audiovisual creation and young talents from Ibero-America. This award aims to support new and independent projects, os authoral nature, and to promote new narratives and aesthetical propositions.

MRG//Work targets directors and producers from Ibero-American countries and Italy with unique and authoral projects, of any genre and in any stage of development.

Since 2019, MRG//Work has the support of the Ibermedia Programme, consisting of a series of participation fellowships.



MRG//Work 5th edition will be held between 26 and 29 November in La Casa Encendida (Madrid) in the context of 9th Márgenes Film Festival.

Tutorship Sessions
During 4 days, participants will be working with a team of international film professionals. Thansk to their diverse profiles, participants will be tutored in several points of view: artistic, technical, financial etc. The goal is to promote thecreative potencial of each projec and, at the same tima, to find the best strategies for every project development and circulation. Projects in different stages of production are accepted.

The masterclasses programme in MRG//Work will continue the work developed previously in Arché, in October. The programme will focus on the editing process, on the market and distribution strategies with a special glance at independent and non fiction films, as well as hybrid forms.
