On the eve of the year 2000, Abderrahmane Sissako, a Mauritanian filmmaker living in France, decides to return to Sokolo, a small village in Mali, to meet his father. He arrives in the village, changes clothes, hops on a bicycle and wanders the streets and the fields. That’s when he comes across Nana, who is also passing by. Something intangible and playful arises between them while the life in the village goes on.
