The issue of the borders of the former USSR territories proved to be a time bomb. Extinction is an eclectic patchwork of (fiction and non-fiction) materials. Kolya, who’s a Moldovan national, but declares himself to be a citizen of Transnistria, guides us through fragments that carry us to the collective imagery of the Soviet Union. The film outlines an abstract comment on the latest political standings of Vladimir Putin of “war without war, occupation without occupation”.
