Doclisboa wants to question the present of film, bringing along its history and assuming cinema as a mode of freedom. By refusing the categorization of film practice, it searches for the new problematics that cinematic image implies, in its multiple ways of engagement with the contemporary.
Doclisboa tries to be a place to imagine reality through new modes of perception, reflection, and possible new forms of action.
Education Project
Film literacy has always been one of the goals of Doclisboa, which invests in the relationship between the school communities and the movie theatre. The goal of our films, debates and workshops is to complement and diversify the contents of the various school subjects, thus fostering curricular and extra-curricular knowledge, cultural and scientific repertoire, sensibility and interest for documentary film. Doclisboa’s Education Project offers a series of activities aimed especially at children and youngsters, and in coordination not only with schools, but also families, adults and groups with special needs.
