Doclisboa wants to question the present of film, bringing along its history and assuming cinema as a mode of freedom. By refusing the categorization of film practice, it searches for the new problematics that cinematic image implies, in its multiple ways of engagement with the contemporary. Doclisboa tries to be a place to imagine reality through new modes of perception, reflection, and possible new forms of action.

Special Session

Inhabitants

Inhabitants is an online video channel launched in 2015, which features documentary reports in experimental formats. Managed by artists Mariana Silva and Pedro Neves Marques, the channel produces and streams short videos. It has collaborated with institutions such as Haus der Kulturen Der Welt and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin), and Museu Coleção Berado (Lisbon). It is currently working with Contour8 Biennale of Moving Image (Belgium). In this session, we present a selection of videos that mirror the diversity of forms and contents we work with.

OCT 26 / 6.00 pm, São Jorge 2

Free admittance. Tickets must be collected on that day.
