Nowadays co-production markets, pitching forums and project workshops are widespread and constitute an often unavoidable step in the production of independent films. Yet, it remains a very delicate moment for directors and producers. Usual worries and stage fear can be harsh when in a middle of a creative process. What are the real opportunities to grasp in a project market? How to prepare yourself as best as possible for a public presentation? How to communicate the essence of your project? How to find a balance between creative freedom and the expectations from the industry people? This and more in an informal talk on how to make the best out of a co-production market.
Rebecca de Pas started working for festivals in 2004, in the Bologna Film Archive. In 2009, she joined FID Marseille in the selection committee as well as co-head of the FID Lab, the international co-production platform. She is head of the industry meetings at the International Environmental Film Festival and the La Roche-sur-Yon International Film Festival. She has been artistic director of the Journées Cinématographiques Dionysiennes. Among others, she collaborated with Berlinale Talents, the Horizons section of the Venice International Film Festival, and the Riviera Maya Film Festival.
