On the banks of the River Niger, in Firgoun village, the Sorko are getting ready to hunt hippopotamus: building the canoe, making the harpoons and the sacrifice of a sheep to the water spirit. Back in the village, the hunters carve up the hippo and organise a dance. A woman is possessed by Harakoy Diko, the water spirit.
