"This film was born out of my love for African music. While organizing my extensive collection of Angolan recordings, I discovered that I had in my possession six different versions of a song called Muxima. And a film was born. Muxima (meaning heart in kimbundu) is a melancholic lament, a cinematographic elegy dedicated to the people of Angola."
