José & Pilar   Workshop & Pitching
Apordoc — Portuguese Documentary Association and EDN — European Documentary Network organizes the twelfth edition of Lisbon Docs, a co-prodution and financing forum for documentaries, which will take place from 11th to 16th October.
If you are a producer and/or director with a project with international appeal, Lisbon docs will offer you a week of intensive creative work, consisting of:
Workshop where 20 projects of documentary films will be developed and presented Pitching public sessions with around 10 commissioning editors and financiers.

Workshop
– 12th to 14th of October (from tuesday to thursday)

During a couple of days, in an intense working atmosphere, 20 projects are discussed, developed and turned upside down by colleagues and a tutor team of internationally experienced producers and directors with the necessary background and skills to give you inspiration for the development of your film.
This year’s tutor team is composed by:
Michael Opstrup, producer (Denmark)
Carmen Cobos, producer (The Netherlands)
Audrius Stonys, director (Lithuania)
Catarina Alves Costa, director (Portugal)
Ann Julienne, Head of International Development, France Télévisions (France)
Christian Popp, producer (Germany)

In addition to the tutor team the experienced Danish editor Jesper Osmund will be at the workshop to provide individual consultation on the improvement and shaping of the pitching trailers/pilots.

Pitching Public Section
– 15th and 16th of October (friday and saturday)
+ Individual Meetings with Commissioning Editors

In an open public session, 20 projects, previously selected for their potential appeal to the international market and developed during a 3-day workshop, are presented to a panel of
decision-makers from documentary funding institutions and leading European channels in international co-productions. It’s a show of what can be expected from documentarists in Portugal and other European countries. 15 minutes are given to each project – half of the time to the producers/directors, the other half to reactions from the panel.
To be in the audience is a unique chance to observe what works and what does not works in today’s international non-fiction market.
